Have you ever wondered what it’s like to stay in a Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel Nelson Stateroom? If the answer is yes, then look no further because today I’m going to show you exactly what it looks like inside and I’m going to talk you through the good, the bad and the ugly!
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you might be aware that we are Gold Butlin’s Premier Loyalty Club members because we stay there so often. Naturally, we like to try out all the different types of accommodation to see if we can find which we like the best.
As a family we are quite fond this nautical themed hotel but had only stayed in a Shoreline Hotel Room with a Partial Sea-view. Trying out a Nelson Stateroom was definitely next on our list!

1. Do Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel Nelson Staterooms have a balcony?
All Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel Nelson Staterooms have a balcony with a sea view.
Just look at that view from the balcony. It’s breathtaking! Despite ending up on the second floor as we didn’t reserve a specific room number like we often do, the view was still insane. I don’t think there are any Nelson Staterooms with a bad view that’s for sure! You can’t get any closer to the sea than these rooms at Butlin’s either.

2. What theme do Nelson Staterooms have?
Nelson Staterooms have a nautical theme.
Incorporating the resorts surroundings, we’ve always loved how Butlin’s have created a nautical theme for the rooms in the Shoreline Hotel. They are so cosy and perfect for toddlers too as all have an activity wall, which our daughter thinks is fab.

3. What do Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel Nelson Stateroom facilities include?
Bath/shower, TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
Nelson Staterooms also include parking right next to the hotel and as mentioned previously, a balcony with a sea-view. The bathroom has a shower that is fitted over the bath and the TV and tea and coffee making facilities are in the lounge. We also found things like an iron, hairdryer and extra bedding etc too.

4. How many beds are there in a Nelson Stateroom?
There are 3 beds which sleep up to 4 people.
There’s a double bed in the open-plan lounge and bedroom area and bunk beds in the second bedroom. The second bedroom is amazing for children and as well as having a TV installed at the end of each bed there’s a huge glow in the dark wall!

5. Are Nelson Staterooms clean?
Nelson Staterooms are immaculately clean.
Our room was very clean and I could not fault the cleanliness of it at all.

6. Do Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel Nelson Staterooms have air conditioning?
There is air conditioning in Nelson Staterooms.
If you decide to stay in a Nelson Stateroom when it’s hot you’re going to need it too. Look at the way the room is facing and all those windows and you don’t need me to explain why. It was very hot when we stayed and we were using air con all the time.

7. Is there a restaurant in the Shoreline Hotel?
The Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel restaurant is called the South Coast Restaurant.
When staying in a Nelson Stateroom at the Shoreline you have the option to add on hotel dining. This includes breakfast and dinner at the South Coast Restaurant. It’s a dining plan that is exclusive for guests staying in this hotel (you can also get the equivalent at The Kaleidoscope if you stay in the Ocean Hotel).
We love having a Butlin’s Dining Plan in place and honestly wouldn’t do it any other way. It takes the pressure off of cooking or having to decide where to eat out every meal time. There’s always plenty of different options to choose from and our daughter is obsessed with the ice-cream factory. I don’t think she would allow us to skip the dining plan option even if we tried!

8. What’s bad about the Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel Nelson Staterooms?
As adults we couldn’t fit in the bunk beds.
I write this in jest really, as our daughter always wants one of us to stay in one of the bunk beds with her so we can have a ‘sleepover’. I’m 5ft 8″ and definitely don’t fit in these beds. Not a problem when you are only waiting for her to go to sleep before returning to where you are really sleeping – in the lovely comfy double bed!

9. What’s good about the Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel Nelson Staterooms?
The sea-view balcony, huge windows and super comfy beds!
What’s not to love about being able to soak up the sun on a huge balcony overlooking the sea or to be able to to the same but sat on a sofa or led in bed? These are definitely the highlights for me. If you asked our daughter she would say that the bunk-beds are really cool and she especially loves having her own TV!

I highly recommend staying in a Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel Nelson Stateroom.
Butlin’s Shoreline Hotel Nelson Stateroom Review – Conclusion
If you’re planning a trip to Butlin’s Bognor Regis then this is how to do it! I also highly recommend the Columbus Quarters rooms with a partial sea-view. They are incredibly cosy. I guess that’s another Butlins review for another day. Please let me know if that’s something you would like to see on here too.
